CADE was an ideas competition for the Chicago Architecture Foundation. This multi function building included a new home for the Chicago Architecture Foundation; headquarters for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat; a Design and Allied Arts High School; and an Out-of School-Time Youth Programming element. The program included an auditorium, exhibit spaces, large gathering spaces for social functions, classrooms, a gymnasium, a performance space, temporary and permanent galleries, a gift shop and a learning garden, kitchen and cafe. The center is intended to function as a design model for 21st century learning environments and a teaching tool for sustainable design.
